BALTIC GODS

The rules of the game “Baltic Gods” are very simple and easy to understand, even for the youngest players.

The goal of the game is to get rid of all your cards faster than the other opponents.

The cards can also be used as a standard deck to play other familiar card games.

Sky Beings (Blue, 1–9):Defeat Nature Beings, Human Environment Beings, and weaker Sky Beings.

Nature Beings (Green, 1–21):Defeat Human Environment Beings and weaker Nature Beings.

Human Environment Beings (Yellow, 1–21):Defeat Nature Beings and weaker Human Environment Beings.

Power Card (Red):Defeats all other cards. Can only be used for defense.

The numbers on the cards indicate their strength.

GAME SETUP

The game can be played by up to five players.

The player next in line after the dealer starts as the attacker. The next player in turn is the defender. Turns proceed in a clockwise direction.

  • The deck is shuffled (51 cards, excluding the Power Card).
  • Cards are dealt as follows:
  • For 1–3 players: 6 cards each
  • For 4–5 players: 5 cards each
The remaining cards form a face-down draw pile.
  • The Power Card is placed next to the draw pile.

The player next in line after the dealer starts as the attacker. The next player in turn is the defender. Turns proceed in a clockwise direction.

GAMEPLAY

ATTACKING PLAYER’S ACTIONS

  • The first attacking card is placed on the table.
  • Additional attacking cards must match the color (suit) of the first card.
  • The maximum number of attacking cards = the number of cards in the defender's hand.
  • Before placing the first card, the attacking player has the option to exchange the Power Card by discarding any three Sky Being cards (of any number). In this case, their turn ends. The discarded Sky Being cards are placed in a separate discard pile. Each player can obtain the Power Card only once per game.

DEFENDING PLAYER’S ACTIONS

The goal is to defend against the attacking cards using stronger cards (based on group or numerical superiority).

  • If the defender cannot or chooses not to defend, they must take all the cards and skip their next turn.
  • If the defending player has a card with the same number as the attacking card, they may choose to pass the turn to the next player and become the attacker. In this case, the attack can only be made using cards of the same color as the one used to pass the turn.

If the Power Card is used for defense, the turn ends, and the card is placed back next to the unused draw pile.

If the defender successfully defends against all attacking cards, they then become the attacker and proceed to attack the next player in turn.

DRAWING CARDS

After each turn, players draw cards from the draw pile to restore their hand to the original number of cards, starting with the attacker.

Cards continue to be drawn in a clockwise direction until the draw pile is empty. After that, the game continues with the remaining cards in the players’ hands.

END OF THE GAME

  • The last player holding cards in their hand loses.
  • A player who has more than 12 cards in their hand automatically loses, and the game ends.
  • If a player’s last remaining card is the Power Card, they win.
  • In games with more than 2 players, the loser is eliminated, and the game restarts with the remaining players until only one winner remains.
